The Alaskan Experience Resort is located in the south central part of Alaska. Homer is surrounded on one side by Kachemak Bay, a popular stop for Alaskan cruise ships, and on the other side by a quarter million acres of state park, wildlife refuges, and wilderness area. Homer's maritime climate is known for cool summers and mild winters. There are plenty of things to do: The Pratt Museum features native Alaskan artifacts, and the Alaska Maritime Refuge Center offers children's programs and guided bird walks. The Boardwalk has shops, galleries, pubs, and plenty of restaurants.
