Preserve Description:

Located just 5 miles from the west gate of Yosemite National Park, this 400-acre preserve is a wonderland of activity during the summer. The South Fork of the Tuolumne River running through the preserve is ideal for swimming, fishing and panning for gold. Lake Don Pedro, 35 miles west, offers fishing, boating and water skiing. Another area attraction is the state's largest public cavern, Moaning Cavern.

Elevation (approx.): 3600 ft.

The winter months provide some of the most unique and breathtaking views of the Yosemite region.

Badger Pass, the only downhill and cross-country ski area at Yosemite National Park (YNP), is open and boasting excellent conditions.

Snowshoe to the Merced Grove of Big Trees. If you have never visited the giants in the snow, it's a must-see!

Take photos of the Yosemite and Bridal Veil waterfalls which create giant stalagmites of ice!

Enjoy a gourmet dinner at the Mountain Room Lodge (YNP). From the Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes to Creme Brulee for desert, this is a highly recommended dining experience.

Tour the quaint Gold Rush era town of Groveland, with many unique shops and restaurants to enjoy. Be sure to visit the Iron Door Saloon, California's oldest saloon!

Our resort is home to many native animal species. Bring your plaster and make track castings of wildlife on the resort. In recent weeks we have seen deer, fox, coyote, bear, and raccoon prints at the river and in the snow.
