Silverleaf's Villages is situated among the sparkling shores of Lake Palestine, one of the largest and most beautiful water-sports playgrounds in the Southwest. The lake's 100 miles of shoreline and miles of waterways offer an unending selection of water-oriented activities. Watercraft rentals, boat slips, and launch ramps are available at the marina. For those who prefer land activities, miniature golf, horesback riding, tennis, basketball, archery, and volleyball are available. Nearby Tyler, the rose capital of Texas, is home to the Caldwell Zoo and Tyler's Municipal Rose Garden.

Tyler - - Caldwell Zoo, located in nearby Tyler, was founded in 1937. Today it is known for its unusual animals from around the world. Fun and educational for the entire family, the animals are housed very close to natural living environments. The Tyler Rose Gardens are considered the nation's largest rose garden, thus giving the town the name "Rose Capital of America." One of the state's major tourist attractions is the Texas Rose Festival, dedicated to the beauty of the blooms.

Canton - Canton Trade Days, or First Monday, is a popular attraction the first of every month. People flock from miles around to buy and sell endless varieties of merchandise from handmade crafts to exotic animals.
