Loreley offers Southern hospitality mixed with rustic charm. Helen, the resort's hometown, has been transformed into an alpine village. Take in the town's mountain charm or explore any of the many state parks and the Chattahoochee National Forest. Helen, nested in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the Chattahoochee River, is a re-creation of an alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers. This northeast Georgia village has a rich history dating back to the Cherokee Indians and their burial mounds, early settlers who mined for gold and cut virgin timber; now Helen celebrates its thirty-first year as a mountain community with a touch of Bavaria. More than 200 specialty and import shops, restaurants and over 1100 quality rooms are located in Helen. Outside of town, over 1000 cabins and chalets are available with cozy fireplaces in secluded settings.

Visitors can enjoy river tubing, horseback riding, golf, canoeing, fishing, mountain biking or hiking to one of the many majestic waterfalls close by. Helen hosts one of the nation's largest Oktoberfests each year, bringing thousands of travelers.

Just northeast of Atlanta, off of Interstate 985, and southwest of Greenville, S.C. off Interstate 85, Helen provides visitors a place to relax, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
