Known as the Yachting Capital of the East, Newport Harbor offers just about any water sport imaginable. If you didn't bring your own boat don't worry, rentals and charters are readily available within walking distance to the boardwalk/boat docks. On land, golf is within five miles, and tennis, horseback riding, and racquetball are within three miles. The Cliff Walk is a short drive away and well worth going to (Beaches nearby the Cliff Walk are great for sunbathing and swimming). Also, don't forget to see the famous Newport Mansions (like the Breakers, the Elms, the Rosecliff & the Marble House) which are all so beautiful and close by. Thames Street is just around the corner and is loaded with small town stores, restaurants & pubs.
