The resort is convenient to the golf courses, shopping, nightclubs and restaurants of world-famous Cancun and is just 20 minutes for from Cancun International Airport and the downtown area. Across the road from the Avalon Grand is Planet Hollywood, down the street about two blocks is Margaritaville and Pat O'Brien's and a short bus ride, about two miles is the famed Senor Frogs. A little further is Dady O's, Coco Bongo's and The Hard Rock Cafe'.

During the daytime there are bus trips to local attractions in the area. These include Xel-Ha, Xcaret, Garrafon, Cozumel, Tulum and Chichen Itza. My own personal experience of Cancun was the best. I want to go back any chance I can get but there are reasons I can not hence the reason why I am selling my timeshare. At the Avalon, there are two sit down restaurants. There is also Kelly's sports bar that has different games such as pool and darts. For a great and elegant meal I suggest the Poterhouse Grill located in front of the Resort. While at the resort you have the option to purchase an all inclusive package which is $45 a day with a minimum of three days. The maintenance fee is $480 every two years paid by the end of February. The package is for 1 week every two years. The season is Platinum which means you can stay any week of the year. You also have the option of using your week at any one of the following Avalon Resorts. These are the Avalon Baccara in Cancun which was the stage for the movie the Real Cancun. The Avalon Reef Club located at the Isle Mujeres just north of Cancun. The Avalon Grand las cumbres located in Panama and the Avalon Excalibur located in Acapulco.
